"Pull in" the lagging foot, and land on it: ![[Gliding - Side glide pull in.png]] "Push out" the leading foot, and land on it: ![[Gliding - Side glide push out.png]] When initially drilling, focus mainly on smoothly transferring weight. Once you master that, refine your foot angle and hip rotation. ### Feet angle Start in this position: ![[Gliding - Side glide start position.png]] "Pull" your left foot in, as you straighten your right leg. Land on your left foot, with the left knee bent: ![[Gliding - Side glide pull in front foot.png]] "Push" your right foot out, as you straighten your left leg. Land on your right foot, with your right knee bent: ![[Gliding - Side glide push out back foot.png]] Repeat to go the same direction. To prepare to switch direction, leave your right foot facing out, and "stall" on it: ![[Gliding - Side glide stall into direction change.png]]
